From Raw Materials to Sheer Bliss

Who can take a pile of bricks and turn it into a cottage? A contractor can. Who can take a few loads of concrete and turn them into a sidewalk? A contractor can. Now, not all contractors have the same skills. A contractor who primarily works on cottages would probably have difficulty making a sidewalk, for example. However, those in this industry are very used to collaborating and reaching out to others when they come across work they don't specialize in. If you think contractors and their work are awesome, then you've come to the right place. This is a friendly blog where you can read more about the topic.

Why You Need Excavation Services For Your Commercial Drainage Needs

Construction & Contractors Blog

If you own a large commercial complex or operate an industrial park, you likely have run into an issue with your drainage. It may become clogged or it simply may be an older system that is not able to hold up to heavy rains and flash flooding. Regardless of your issue, they may all need some form of services from an excavation contractor. Here are some of the reasons you may need these services in the future.

Excavating a Larger Drainage Collection

If you are having commercial drainage problems, part of your problem may be with your drainage collection area. If the area is not large enough, it can lead to flooding issues and eventually erosion or even water damage. If the drainage collection area is clogged, it could be allowing runoff overflow. It may also not be draining itself. These are all issues that need commercial drainage repair from an excavation contractor. The contractor will need to dig out the current drainage area and possibly make it larger. This means excavating the debris and some of the soil to create a better collection area.

Digging Out Current Drainage Lines

The drainage lines that were placed when the commercial property was developed may have been fine for several years or even decades. However, clogging of the drainage lines or increased drainage needs may cause the drainage lines to break down and erode. This can lead to not only repairs on the drainage lines, but also to other areas of the commercial property. Your contractor will dig out the current drainage lines and expand or deepen them. This will allow a concrete contractor to come in and place your new drainage system.

Excavating Natural Blockages

Natural blockages can be caused by various issues. You may have natural erosion that causes concrete, rocks, or other debris to block the drainage lines. You may have a natural disaster that causes major blockages from roadways and parts of your own commercial property. Your contractor can excavate these larger pieces of debris and remove them from the path of your drainage lines so repairs can be done.

If you find that you need commercial drainage repair, contact your area excavation contractor. They can inspect your current drainage situation and determine what steps should be taken. Keep in mind that they may need to work alongside your concrete contractor in order to ensure the drainage system is what you need and the depth the excavators go matches the depth of the new drainage system.
